About FlexWorkPolicy

What this site is for

Since the return-to-office wave began, big employers have rewritten their workplace rules again and again. Memos are long, jargon is dense, and it is rarely obvious how a new policy affects your commute, your paycheck, your caregiving responsibilities, or your ability to negotiate.

FlexWorkPolicy.com builds two things for US employees:

  • Free calculators and generators — commute cost, real hourly wage, hybrid request emails, exemption letters, state-law quick references — all running in your browser, with no sign-up and no data collection.
  • Plain-language explanations — breakdowns of major companies' RTO policies and guides to your rights and options, written to be usable in a real conversation with your manager.

Where our information comes from

Policy pages and guides are written from publicly available sources: official company announcements and internal memos reported in the press, employer policy pages, reputable news coverage, and public references on federal and state labor rules. Wherever practical, we prefer primary sources — the company's own announcement — over secondhand summaries.

We do not have inside sources at any employer, and we do not reproduce confidential documents. If you believe a detail on a page is out of date or inaccurate, please write to us — corrections are welcome.

Our editorial stance

Every interpretation on this site is original writing, not a copy of official text. We explain what a policy likely means for an employee, who it helps and who it puts at a disadvantage, and what practical steps you might take next.

We deliberately use careful wording on legal topics: words like usually, generally, most states, and verify with official sources. We do not make flat claims about what your employer can or cannot do, because those questions depend on your state, your contract, your immigration status, and your disability or caregiving situation. Nothing on this site constitutes legal, tax or financial advice.

How often we update

Policy pages are reviewed at least once a month, and whenever a major company announces a workplace-policy change. Each policy page shows its own last-updated date. If an employer updates a policy and we have not caught up yet, treat the employer's official announcement as authoritative and let us know so we can revise the page.
